FAQ — Modules transceivers 25G / 40G / 100G
1Comment choisir entre QSFP28 SR4, LR4 et BiDi ?
- SR4 (850nm, MPO) : courte distance ≤ 100m sur fibre OM3/OM4 — intra-rack et inter-rack en salle serveur.
- LR4 (1309nm, LC) : longue distance jusqu'à 10km sur fibre monomode OS2 — inter-bâtiment ou DCI.
- BiDi (1291/1311nm) : une seule fibre pour les deux sens — économise le câblage si fibre déjà installée.
2Quelle différence entre DAC, AOC et transceiver + câble fibre ?
- DAC (cuivre direct) : ≤ 5m, moins cher, consommation nulle — idéal intra-rack top-of-rack.
- AOC (fibre active) : jusqu'à 100m, léger, sans SFP séparé — inter-rack longue portée.
- Transceiver + câble fibre : flexible, distances illimitées, hot-plug individuel — infrastructure permanente.
3Vos modules sont-ils compatibles avec mon switch Cisco / Arista / Mellanox ?
Oui. Chaque module Elfcam est codé sur mesure pour la marque de votre équipement. Utilisez le configurateur ci-dessus ou contactez-nous avec le modèle exact de votre switch — nous vérifions la compatibilité avant expédition.
4Quelle fibre utiliser avec un QSFP28 SR4 100G ?
Le QSFP28 SR4 utilise une fibre multimode OM3 ou OM4 avec connecteur MPO/MTP 12 fibres. Distance max : 70m sur OM3, 100m sur OM4. Pour les distances supérieures, choisissez le QSFP28 LR4 avec fibre monomode OS2 et connecteur LC Duplex.
5Peut-on utiliser un QSFP28 dans un slot QSFP+ ?
Uniquement si le switch supporte le mode "QSFP28 backward compatible". Dans ce cas le port fonctionne en 40G. Vérifiez le datasheet de votre équipement — certains switches Arista et Mellanox acceptent les deux, d'autres nécessitent un firmware update.
6Quelle est la garantie et le délai de livraison ?
Tous les modules Elfcam bénéficient d'une garantie à vie. Expédition J+1 ouvré depuis notre stock en France. Retour gratuit si le module ne s'initialise pas sur votre équipement.
